Michelle Sets Her Sights on Space!

Schoolgirl, Michelle O'Niell wins competition for trip to visit ESA.

Michelle O'Neill, from Athlone, Co. Westmeath, Ireland, a student of St Mary's National School, is on her way for a once in a lifetime visit to the European Space Agency technology headquarters ESTEC in The Netherlands. Michellewas the winner of a competition organised for all students who participated in and Engineers Week of Wonder event. Michelle won a trip for two adults and two children to travel to the European Space Agency and to visit the Space Expo in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The competition was organised by Engineers Ireland and sponsored by Space Industry Skillnet.

Over 20,000 young people across Ireland took part in Engineers Week with some 110 events taking place nationwide over the course of the week designed to highlight the exciting world of engineering to young people.
